Hot Sausage Roll | Everyone loves hot sausage rolls for a mid morning snack or part of your lunch. Soft melt in the mouth pastry with well-seasoned sausage meat. There is usually a good pie and sausage roll section in most bakeries, also serving hot soups to takeaway or eat in. | Bakery
Pavlova | The ultimate Australian dessert. Meringue with cream and fresh fruit, simple yet utterly delicious and often seen as slices in cake shops around the country. Named after the Russian ballet dancer Pavlova, there have been many recipes developed over the years and each Australian household will have their own. The simpler the better we think with slices of strawberry and kiwi being the most common fruit used. | Desert
Carrot Cake | Normally served in squares, a cinnamon and nutmeg spiced cake with walnuts, covered in icing and normally decorated on the top with a bright orange and green carrot figure . A very fruity tasting piece of cake, and very sweet, so you cant eat too much of it! | Bakery, Desert

Croissants | If you're looking for lunch on the run, while they may not be the healthiest choice a Croissant is a quick and typically cheap option. Some bakeries will add ham and cheese for you too. For those who are looking for more of a snack (or dessert) the chocolate Croissant is for you. | Bakery
Chia bread and rolls | Chia is fast becoming popular and for good reason. This superfood is small, but packs a big punch of nutritional and health benefits. Most bakeries (more so bigger chains) are offering a wide range of Chia options, from typical wholemeal chia loaves to fruit loaves with Chia. If you've never tried Chia before give it a go. | Bakery
Tea | A fresh cup of good old English tea never goes amiss. Drink in or takeaway, it still tastes good! There is usually a selection of teas such as Breakfast Tea (usual English tea), Earl Grey, Lemon and other varieties such as Lapsang Souchong. Bigger bakeries will serve the tea with the pot, whereas smaller ones will serve you just a cup, or a takeway container. | Bakery
Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows | A lovely warming drink, particularly for the children! Delicious hot chocolate served with whipped cream and pink and white marshmallows is often seen in cake shops. A sprinkling of chocolate on the top normally completes the drink. | Desert |

From humble beginnings in the back blocks of Sydney’s inner western suburb of Rozelle, the brothers Konopacki baked delicious cakes fashioned from’ Mamuska’, their Polish mother’s, traditional recipes. Robert had entrepreneurial flair and experience in food while Warwick, a clinical psychologist by trade, brought a strong analytical mind that helped design and document the recipes and procedures. Within two years the first franchised store was opened at Baulkham Hills Sydney that achieved overnight success and precipitated the opening of a further two hundred stores over the next five years. Warwick may have been the first clinical psychologist to offer a relaxing slice of cake before discussing more personal issues on the couch. The Cheesecake Shop stores are now in every state of Australia and New Zealand and have more recently opened in the United Kingdom and Poland.
The franchised structure of the business together with the disciplined procedures and recipes helped create a consistency of quality that has led to ‘The Cheesecake Shop’ brand achieving exceptionally strong consumer awareness and preference. Today the brand is synonymous with immaculately presented and delicious cakes, loved by a generation of Australians and New Zealanders.
In 1997, The Cheesecake Shop was acknowledged by its peers in the world of franchising by being awarded the prestigious ‘Franchise System of the Year’.
