Doner Kebabs
Originally from Turkey, Doner kebabs are made from lamb cooked on a spit (vertical). Like kebabs from all around the world in Australia you typically can add lettuce, tomato, onion, tabbouleh and cheese. Sauces range from hummus, bbq, garlic, chill, sweet-chilli and tomato. All wrapped in flat bread, although next time maybe try it in Turkish bread for something different.

Mixed Plate
While not offered at all “Takeaway” kebab outlets, if you manage to find one that offers seating and is more like a restaurant you may be lucky enough to see “Mixed Plate” on the menu. You'll be able to choose from Chicken and Shish (Lamb) and if you're lucky enough Adana. All cooked fresh over coals and typically served with rice, flat bread, onion, lettuce, tomato and your choice of sauce. Trust us, it's worth the extra cost.

Calzones
Calzones are ‘folded pizzas’ that contain a variety of fillings, but are based on the most usual pizza toppings. Some are more elaborate than others and can contain any kind of meat, such as minced beef, chicken, ham and also tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, but also spinach, rocket, aubergine and other vegetables. The ‘pizza’ is folded over and sealed to prevent the filling from oozing out.
